Namati inviting South Asian participants to M&E Workshop

South Asia Practitioners Fair: Monitoring and Evaluation
19th – 20th April 2012, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Namati is teaming up with BRAC, Multiple Action Rights Group (MARG), and Open Society Justice Initiative to offer NGO leaders and senior program managers an opportunity to explore their own monitoring and evaluation plans with some of the world’s leading experts in measuring the impact of legal empowerment.
You’ll have the chance to hear about the latest methodologies used in the field, and have one-on-one detailed advice from experts on the most suitable approach for your own needs, as well as input in planning your own research. By the end of the workshop, you will come away with concrete plans for understanding and documenting the impact of your work.

Participants will be expected to come armed with ideas and to work hard on their own plans throughout the two days. The fair is targeting directors, managers and those responsible for monitoring and evaluation within legal empowerment programmes.
Likely types of research to be showcased include:
-Designing and managing a case management system
  • -Designing and analyzing a case database
-Randomized controlled trials
-Household surveys
-Using case tracking to evaluate impact
-Peer-review monitoring systems
-Designing a system for gathering and analyzing client feedback
We’re also keen to learn about innovative approaches to evaluating legal empowerment work, and look forward to hearing what tools you’ve already been using.
Applications must be accompanied by a one page document setting out:
  • What legal empowerment work your organisation does
  • What monitoring and evaluation your organisation has done so far, and any future plans
  • Why you want to attend and what you think your organisation will get out of the fair
All applicants must be South Asia-based, and must manage a legal empowerment programme or be responsible for M&E at a civil society organisation undertaking legal empowerment work
Deadline for submission of applications is Wednesday 22nd February. Please send applications to Lotta Teale at lteale@justiceinitiative.org. There is no fee for the workshop. The organisers will cover transport and accommodation costs.
